Welcome to Emerald City Blog!

This has been something I’ve been meaning to get around to since I moved to Seattle in the summer of 2021 but am finally doing now.

Better late than never, right?

I started this blog because ever since I moved here, I’ve wanted to learn more about the city that I live in and I want to share what I learn with everyone.

In a way, this is a natural continuation of what I used to do when I worked for a local newspaper-writing about the city I live in and sharing what I learn in the hope that readers would learn more about their little corner of the world.

I hope Emerald City Blog does the same.

Unlike a daily newspaper however, there won’t be any deep dives into policy or interviews nor will there be a consistent publishing schedule. This is purely a hobby for me and I’ll be focusing on learning more about the greater Seattle area primarily through data.

Of course, you can’t learn about a city solely through numbers. There is so much life and culture that makes Seattle what it is, especially the restaurant scene here. This blog will look at that too, with my wonderful, beautiful partner writing about what she knows and loves best about the Emerald City-the food.
